Logan repeats with win over Melrose
Melrose came out of the gates with guns blazing, but it wasn’t enough to take down the defending state champs. The Longhorns were able to pull off a repeat with a win over the Buffaloes, 23-25, 25-20, 25-13, 21,25,16-14.
Trailing in the fifth set, the Longhorns took a timeout. “We talked about getting up, getting a good tempo, get up and stay confident in ourselves,” said junior Karli Webb.
About regaining the momentum after dropping the fourth set, Logan head coach Robert Young said, “I thought our defense dictated how we played. We blocked well, and that gave us a chance. They played hard, and with a lot of heart.”
Karli Webb finished the match with a game-high 23 kills.
