Franklin “clicking”

Franklin, perhaps the best program in El Paso right now (Eastwood fans may disagree) plowed through Mayfield in three, easy sets. The Trojans, who must’ve felt pretty good after getting a win at El Paso Americas last week, were schooled by the Cougars, not getting a kill until the second set. Both teams will be playing in the Margaret Hussmann Tournament of Champions this weekend.

Tularosa upbeat about season

With the loss of some of the best 2A players in the state, Tularosa is on the path to rebuild their program. Lucky for them most of the teams in District 6-2A are undertaking the same task. Not to worry; the Lady Wildcats still have some experienced talent in Cheyanne Bartram, Ashley Porter and Kim Turner.

As mentioned above, it looks like the front line came through for the Wildcats, as Tulie swept Cobre, 25-12, 25-13, 25-14)

UTEP Volleyball

Story/video on the addition of Zitlali Herrera and El Paso’s own Francquee Acosta. Acosta, you may remember, was an OH for Americas and Wildfire, where she was known for her offensive prowess; it appears Murphy wants to develop her in a more defensive type of role. Either way, Acosta is a good fit for UTEP.
