Daily Dig
Game to Watch
Las Cruces @ El Paso Franklin 6:30 PM
The El Paso teams have always been a good litmus test for the Las Cruces schools, and after the Dawg’s “upset” of Chapin last Tuesday, another EP powerhouse may be in trouble. Franklin is coming off an unsuccessful performance at the Fraulein Tournament last weekend, losing to Churchill (TX) and Westwood (TX).
To win, Las Cruces will need to play as flawless as a second game of the season can be–that means the serve/receive game needs to improve. Defensively, if Cruces can play the same as Tuesday, they have a good shot. Hustle from all the players, including some nice digs from Alyssa Barrera and Givy Padilla effectively put Chapin OH Alyssa Lozoya out of business.
Keep on eye on Franklin’s Caylee Robalin, a 5′ 8″ OH–she packs a punch and was selected to the Fraulein All-Tournament team. Dawg front row defense against Franklin’s hitters will make for a great game.
