Congrats to former Las Cruces DS/Libero Cameron Rodriguez for earning a spot on the NMSU Aggie Volleyball team as a walk-on.
A 2022 graduate, Rodriguez played libero for the majority of her junior year and moved over to DS as a senior. Having faced Centennial over her high school career will have prepared her for any heat–she regularly defended against a D1-caliber hitter in Tess Fuqua.

Albuquerque photog and graphic designer Noah Padilla, AKA “Bag the Bandit,” recently published his picks for Top 5 VB programs in New Mexico, albeit with a more ABQ-based perspective. Teams include La Cueva, Cleveland, Hope Christian, Centennial, and Cibola–all worthy picks.
It’s too early in the season to tell. Still, many teams throughout New Mexico, especially in the lower classes, could all claim to be a Top 5 program, especially Artesia.
